Adjunct Instructor – Daytime, Face
to Face Only College of Social & Behavioral Sciences Undergraduate Behavioral Science Program Need adjunct faculty with expertise in sociological research methods. We believe that the opportunity for higher education should be available to all who seek it, and we will continue to meet the ongoing challenges that higher education presents in the years ahead Adjunct teaching applicants are expected to have strong communications skills, be experienced in teaching at the post-secondary education level, and have work experiences in the discipline in which they expect to teach. Applicants are expected to have a minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Applicants should meet the following criteria: • Master’s degree in sociology, behavioral science, social work, or human services. • Understanding of the mission and values of Wilmington University. • Must possess good writing skills and be able to provide a writing sample. • Must possess computer skills and be able to use MS Office software. • Experience in using Black Board technology a plus. • Must be willing to go through Wilmington University’s 3-week online training program so as to demonstrate Bb mastery in the classroom. • Must be able to abide by tight deadlines required of a 7 week Block format curriculum. • Must have knowledge of various instructional strategies designed to meet the course instructional objectives and add to student learning. • Must be able to develop a personalized course outline designed to follow a generic syllabus provided by the University. • Must be able to provide relevant work experience to the instructional content of the course. • Qualified Applicants will be
asked to present a 10-minute teaching sample for the
Program’s Director and Chair as part of the
